Goddess
from the
Machine
COME, WE ASCEND TOGETHER
FROM THE MACHINE OF SOCIETAL SYSTEMS
TO THE HEAVENS
WE FIND OUR INNER DEITIES
AND TRANSCEND REALITY
Dea ex Machina (“Goddess from the machine”) is the musical persona of songwriter, producer, composer, and recording artist Torina Gedler. As an openly identifying Disabled and Queer music artist, Gedler celebrates the beautiful diversity of Disability, Queerness, and the Divine Feminine through a lush synthpop sound informed by decades of classical music training and a dual career as a choral composer. Gedler is also a Pro Verified member of RAMPD (Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities) and was honored with an Artist Project grant to pursue her album in July 2024.
THE PLOT ABOUT DISABILITY, WOVEN OF HARMFUL NARRATIVES CREATING IMPOSSIBLE BARRIERS, BEGINS TO DISSOLVE –
BEHOLD! WE EMERGE, SUSPENDED BY THE TECHNOLOGY AND MAGIC OF THE HUMAN VESSEL, RIPPING APART THE LIES
DISMANTLING THE SYSTEM WITH JUSTICE – RECOGNIZING THAT ALL PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES MUST BE REPRESENTED BEFORE WE ARE FREE.
